TRAVEL

I should be at a graduation party in Eldoret by 2.00p.m. I am still in Nairobi and it is approaching 10.00 am. Issue is that everyone thought like me and therefore we are here many of us waiting to board vehicles that aren't even here at the bus park yet. Will update you how this will go.

Just to explain my long absence, I went home for a function as mentioned in the ERRANDS post. No or barely there internet connection. I am actually doing this post from a cyber cafe and risking my hard disk of viruses by trying to post some of the pictures I took at home. Wish me luck.

ERRANDS

Had an early morning today, laundry to do and house cleaning. I later went to book tickets for the bus I shall be boarding with my sister Bella and my friend Vancy.

Yea, a family function at home. My Dad is hosting his former students. He started off as a teacher in his career and retired as an education officer. He asked each of us, the children to bring along friends.

Oh! No pictures today, am all alone at my place and am not good with selfies. The pictures in the earlier posts were being shot by my former colleague Faith at work. Am officially out of salaried employment.

TIME ZONES

Just realized how much a role time zones play on blog posts. I have settled on making my posts between 1.00pm and 2.00pm Kenyan time. That way I won't run into the possibility of having two posts for a single day.

If you have been keen you will realize that my feet haven't been captured in my pictures. I had an infection on my right leg and therefore I am almost permanently on flat shoes which I don't have a lot of them. Therefore it's almost the same pair daily.

LUNCH

Yesterday I treated my department members for lunch. We are just four of us, two ladies and two gents. I considered this as a goodbye treat now that I am leaving paid employment on the 5th December 2013 to start up on farming.

Great time it was, I am grateful for having worked with such a marvelous team. Wish you well Nicky, Andrew and Faith. Of course whatsapp, email and phone calls shall be made.

PRESENT FUTURE

Yesterday met my Mama in the CBD and it just hit me how we quickly grow to become our mothers if you are a lady that is.

When growing up my Mama could buy for us scones for breakfast. It was always a special treat, a break from the regular bread and potatoes. And come me years later, scones is my Sunday breakfast special stuffed with eggs and peas. My brother one time was visiting and just shook his head when he saw the scones on the table.

Between 20-28 years I had a difficult relationship with Mama and over the years as I get older with enough compromises here and there all is now well.

Safe journey as you head back to the village Mama.

VICTORIA CONCORDIA CRESCIT

I am a die hard fan of Arsenal FC and yesternight they won against Marseille in a champions league fixture. Bliss if you ask me. It feels good to win considering how bad things were for the club competitively in the previous season.

And the rains this morning is insane. Always looking at the positive side though, I choose to celebrate with the farmers and keeping warm of course.

COCKTAILS

I don't know if it's only me. Well, I don't mix my work mates with personal friends. This is because my personal friends and I have come from far. We have our own way of communicating and definitely we just have this natural chemistry amongst us. Yea, those are my five girls.

You might wonder why, I had a party to attend on 22nd Nov 2013 and my two male colleagues wanted to come with me. I had to be blunt and just give a plain no for an answer. Definitely they were offended. Sorry, that is me there are some boundaries, and my girls are just special. I don't know about you, what's your take?

NEW GROUND

Hallo world! Hmmmm, reminds me of the college coding. I am a girl on the edge. With 7 years as a teacher of ICT and 3 years as a Creative Graphic Designer and dabbling with fashion .

Why new ground you might ask? Yea, leaving paid employment to start on newer ventures. Farming it is, has been a long time dream. It sounds crazy on so many levels but there is nothing scary like not trying.

And many times you will see my posts on dressing, sometimes just pictures of my attire for the day. And of course just life musings.
